mescaline or shrooms?

i have recently been very interested in trying shrooms...and i have also been reading up on mescaline. they both sound similar, and both sound equally cool. i havent really read any type of horrible side effects from either one, so i was just wonderign which one ot do first, or is there anything i should know about mescaline that i might not know (health risks, ect) which one is more fun (trip wise)?

Ok, both are psychedelic drugs, but the diffrences are significant:

Chemical:
MM = tryptamine
MS = phenethylamine

Duration:
MM = 4-8 hours
MS = 6-12 hours

Treshold (minimum dose)
MM = 2 mg
MS = 80 mg

Legality (USA):
MM = illegal
MS (San Pedro / peruvianus) = legal (as a plant)

Another significant difference is that you are highly unlikely to come across mescaline. Most times, when someone tells you a plant is mescaline, it is actually a combination of either pcp or lsd. Mushrooms are way easier to come by.



Another difference is as snowball said the trip time. If your a first time psychedelic user, you probably will be a little overwhelmed by a 12 + hour trip. Try a small dose of mush first.
