i just got my kits in the mail. I'm a first time grower and have read almost all i can find. my question is how much light is needed when u first get the kits open? 12hr of light 12 of dark? any suggestions would be help greatly.

while collinixing light is not needed. Once fruiting some light is desirable, it tells the mushies which direction to grow as well as a possible fruiting trigger. As little as two hours will work, up to 10-12 hrs. These are not green plents so don't worry about light to much. Oh- direct sunlight is BAAAAAADDD.

They fo not need any direct light as long as you don't live in a dark room they will be fine with normal light that comes from your window, ceiling, etc...mushrooms do not photosythesize as they are not "green" nor plants they are a fungi....

i have a 33 watt florecent light on the kits right now and i am getting kickass results.
